Hired three contractors before JMartin and got nothing but excuses. JMartin gave us a fixed price, a real schedule, and finished a week early. Night and day.
Our second-story addition was complicated and they made it feel simple. They answered every email within hours and the finish work is incredible.
From design to keys, the JMartin team kept us in the loop. No surprise invoices, no "well, it's complicated." The quality of their craftsmanship speaks for itself.
Full kitchen and primary suite remodel while we lived in the house. They protected the rest of the home, communicated daily, and delivered on time.
The design-build approach saved us months. Having one team handle drawings and construction meant fewer change orders and a smoother schedule.
Honest from day one. They told us what was achievable in our budget and stuck to it. Found a gem of a builder and we'll be referring everyone we know.
Custom mountain home — challenging site, ambitious design. JMartin made it happen and the workmanship is unreal. Worth every dollar.
Whole-home renovation while we were living in it. Stress level: low. Communication: excellent. Finishes: gorgeous. Couldn't ask for more.

Most custom home builds in Western Montana take 9–14 months from breaking ground to keys-in-hand. Foundation through dry-in (framing + roof + windows) typically runs 3–4 months. Interior work — drywall, trim, finishes — runs another 5–8 months. Weather and material lead times affect timing more than anything else. We give you a realistic schedule at the start and update you weekly.
Yes. We pull all permits, schedule inspections, and meet inspectors on site. You shouldn't have to learn the Missoula County or City permitting process to build your house — that's our job.
Custom builds in the Missoula area generally run $250–$450 per square foot in 2026, depending on finishes, site conditions, and structural complexity. Production-style builds can come in lower; high-end custom with premium finishes runs higher. We give you a fixed-bid line-item quote so there are no mid-project surprises.
Yes. Framing and exterior work slow down or pause when temperatures drop, but interior trim, tile, and finish work continue year-round. We sequence projects so the dry-in (roof and walls closed up) happens before deep winter, then we work inside through the cold months.
A real conversation. On-site if you're nearby, video call if not. We listen to what you want, look at your site if you have one, and tell you honestly whether your project fits what we do, what realistic budget looks like, and what we'd recommend for next steps. No pressure, no contracts, no obligation.
We work throughout Western Montana — Missoula, the Bitterroot Valley (Hamilton, Stevensville, Florence), Seeley Lake, the Flathead area (Kalispell), Polson, and surrounding communities. If you're in the (406) and not on this list, ask. We may still be a fit depending on the project.
Yes. We're a licensed Montana general contractor, fully insured, and bonded. Documentation available on request.
One-year workmanship warranty on everything we build. Manufacturer warranties on materials (roofing, siding, etc.) typically run longer — we register those for you. If something goes wrong, we answer the phone.
Fill out the form and we'll text you back within one business day. No obligation, no pressure — we'll be honest if we're not the right fit.
